Laser shaft and pulley alignment

Misalignment as a cause of premature failure

Laser shaft alignment systems are the most advanced way to ensure coaxiality between driving and driven machines. They work with two measuring units containing lasers and detectors that precisely capture deviations in the horizontal and vertical planes as well as angular errors. A digital processor calculates the required corrections at the machine feet in real time, allowing the operator to align with high accuracy.

Laser technology eliminates the errors associated with the deflection of dial-gauge brackets and with human reading of values. The systems include soft-foot checking, thermal growth compensation and the generation of automatic reports on equipment condition. Correct shaft alignment dramatically reduces vibration, bearing temperature and energy consumption, extending the interval between maintenance operations and preventing unplanned production downtime.

Product range

  • laser shaft alignment systems,
  • laser pulley alignment devices,
  • mounting accessories with chain brackets,
  • tablet controllers with a guided procedure,
  • soft-foot checking function,
  • thermal growth compensation,
  • automatic alignment reports,
  • carrying cases and accessories.

LASER-EQUILIGN2 — shaft alignment

The LASER-EQUILIGN2 system measures the coaxiality of two shafts using two measuring units attached to the shafts with chain brackets. A guided procedure on the tablet controller takes the operator step by step from measurement to correction at the machine feet, with no calculations on paper.

Functions are available for soft-foot checking, entering thermal growth values and producing a report on the completed alignment that can be added to the maintenance documentation.

LASER-SMARTY2 — pulley alignment

Belt drives call for a simpler device. LASER-SMARTY2 attaches magnetically inside the pulley groove and its laser line shows parallelism, angular deviation and offset of both pulleys at the same time.

One person can complete the alignment in a few minutes. A correctly aligned belt drive achieves substantially longer belt life, less wear on the groove flanks and lower bearing loads.

Advantages of laser alignment

  • accuracy that dial gauges cannot achieve,
  • no errors from bracket deflection or manual reading,
  • soft-foot checking before alignment,
  • lower vibration and bearing temperature,
  • reduced energy consumption of the drive train,
  • documented reports for maintenance records.
