X Seals

X seals are seals with a specific profile that offer greater sealing efficiency and stability compared to standard O-rings. Their design prevents spiral twisting (torsion) in the groove, which is a common occurrence under dynamic loads. Due to the four sealing edges, the X seal requires less radial compression to achieve impermeability, reducing friction, wear, and heating during operation. The space between the sealing lips allows for the retention of lubricant, further improving sliding properties. They are most commonly made from NBR and FKM/Viton materials and are suitable for both static sealing and reciprocating or rotary motion at lower speeds.
