Oil Seals
Radial seals are specialized components for sealing rotating shafts and other machine parts. The construction includes a metal housing, a sealing lip made of elastomers (NBR, FKM, VMQ, PTFE), and a spring that provides constant radial pressure on the shaft. The primary function is to separate two media, usually lubricant inside and contaminants in the external environment. Designs with an additional dust lip provide increased protection against external particles, while the choice of material determines resistance to operating temperatures, peripheral speeds, and the chemical aggressiveness of the media.
