In Seals
V-seals are axial elastomer seals designed to protect bearing assemblies and other machine parts from the ingress of external contaminants such as dust, dirt, water, and oil mist. Unlike radial seals, the V-seal seals against the face surface while rotating with the shaft. Due to centrifugal force, the sealing lip reduces pressure on the mating surface at higher speeds, minimizing friction and overheating. They are made from NBR materials for standard applications or FKM for conditions with high temperatures and exposure to chemicals.
