Guide Rings

Guide rings in the pneumatic cylinder serve for precise guidance of the piston and piston rod within the cylinder and for taking on the radial forces that occur during operation. Their use prevents direct contact between sliding metal parts, significantly reducing the risk of damage (scoring) to surfaces and extending the lifespan of the sealing system. Pneumatic applications are characterized by materials with an exceptionally low coefficient of friction and a high degree of dry lubrication, such as polyamide (PA), polyacetal (POM), or PTFE with filler. These materials allow for smooth sliding without the occurrence of the 'stick-slip' effect, which is crucial for precise positioning and responsiveness of pneumatic components.
