Piston Seals
The seals of the piston rod are the most important elements in the sealing system of the hydraulic cylinder, as they prevent the working medium from leaking from the inside of the cylinder to the environment. They are installed in the head of the cylinder. They are designed to maintain sealing at high working pressures while allowing the formation of a minimal oil film that lubricates the sealing lips and guides. Due to exposure to dynamic loads, they are made from materials with a high degree of elasticity and abrasion resistance, such as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and NBR rubber, while in certain conditions, PTFE designs are also used for low friction and high speeds.
