Nord-Lock Washers

Nord-Lock washers are a premium locking system for bolted connections, based on the principle of wedge locking instead of friction. They consist of a pair of washers that have wedge-shaped surfaces on the inner side and radial teeth on the outer side. The wedge angle is greater than the thread pitch of the bolt, which causes increased preload to be created between the washers when attempting to loosen the bolt, physically preventing rotation.

The outer radial teeth bite into the surface under the bolt head and into the workpiece, securing the washers in place. The system is extremely resistant to strong vibrations and dynamic loads, where conventional locking elements often fail. Nord-Lock washers are suitable for reuse, operate in dry or oiled conditions, and maintain a constant clamping force, significantly increasing safety and reducing maintenance costs in the most demanding industries.
