Ribbed Belts

Ribbed belts, also known by the commercial name Poly-V, represent a hybrid solution that combines the high flexibility of flat belts with the strong grip of V-belts. Their design features longitudinal ribs in the shape of a V on the underside, which fit precisely into the grooves on the pulley. This construction allows for a significantly larger contact surface compared to flat belts, increasing the transmission power while allowing the use of belts in systems with extremely small pulley diameters.

They are made from durable elastomer blends, such as EPDM or NEOPRENE. Due to their low profile height and small mass, ribbed belts are extremely resistant to bending loads, allowing operation at high speeds and power transmission in compact spaces. They are often used in drives where a single belt drives several different aggregates simultaneously.

Technically, ribbed belts are divided into various standardized profiles, such as PJ, PK, PL, and PM, which differ in the spacing between the ribs and their height. In addition to high efficiency, reaching up to 98%, they are characterized by quiet operation with minimal vibrations and high resistance to oils, temperature fluctuations, and aging. Due to their reliability and ability to handle high speeds, they are indispensable in the automotive industry, household appliances, and demanding industrial machines.
